Hamilton, Wood, Dixon in Big Sky Country was a digital portrait project I created to trace familial connections to Beulah Hamilton, my wife's grandmother. Five generations from across the country gathered in Loma Linda, CA to celebrate her 99th birthday in 2007. She passed away early in 2009 at 101 years old.

The collection was created in two phases. Phase One, 1999-2000  35 damaged Vericolor negatives were printed on 9"x12" Bristol board, and used as the basis for digitally painted landscapes  printed using a four color dry wax transfer process.  Phase Two:  In 2005, six original paintings, 22"x28" and 24"x36" were created as variations on  Phase One prints. The media were oils and oil pastels.

I digitally processed selected email images. Then, with a variety of techniques I  recreated them in color pencils, oils and oil pastels on 22"x28" poster board.
